CHAT 3.0 Is Here: What's New and Why It Matters

Today, ICTI is releasing CHAT version 3.0 — the most significant update to our messaging platform since its initial launch. Version 3.0 is a ground-up rebuild of the core architecture, designed to support enterprise-scale usage, tighter security controls, and a significantly improved mobile experience.

What's New in CHAT 3.0

  • End-to-end encryption by default — all messages and file transfers are now E2E encrypted with no opt-out. Enterprise administrators can configure key management to comply with their internal security policies.
  • Channels and Spaces — a new organizational layer above group chats, allowing large organizations to structure communication into projects, departments, and topics without creating chaos.
  • Threaded replies — conversations within channels can now be threaded, keeping discussions organized and reducing notification noise.
  • Enterprise SSO — CHAT now integrates with SAML 2.0 and OIDC identity providers, making it compatible with enterprise directory services out of the box.
  • Message retention policies — administrators can configure how long messages are retained for compliance and storage reasons.

On the mobile side, version 3.0 ships with a completely redesigned interface built with React Native, replacing the hybrid web view that powered previous versions. The result is a 40% improvement in cold-start time and a dramatically smoother scrolling and media-viewing experience.

Existing CHAT users will be upgraded to 3.0 automatically over the next two weeks. Enterprise clients with custom deployments will be contacted by our team to coordinate their upgrade window.
